Hip hop magazine heavy-weight The Source took steps to break a long standing relationship between hip hop and the porn industry by no longer running ads for pornographic movies, adult web sites or escort services.

The long running adult ads also known as “booty ads” featuring scantily-clad women are now banned from the Source’s pages and its web site.

Said the co-publisher, “I realize the risk that we’re taking. But we don’t want to just glorify the lowest-hanging fruit.” “There’s a lot of people that want hip-hop but don’t want some of the filth that some of the business carries with it.”

Several critics cited the Magazine only decided to discontinue “booty ads” after many pornography businesses went bankrupt during the economic downturn and the demand for those type ads were drastically reduced.

Said one reader, “They just some hypocrites because they sold those ads forever until the economy tanked. Let’s see if they continue their high-and-mighty stance when the economy recovers and those ad dollars go to their competitors”.

In an interview with writer David Watts for KING magazine, West said that he may produce a softcore porn movie as a companion piece to his new disc 808 & Heartbreak and that singer added that he is not above performing in this film.

The Pan-Malaysian Islamic party (PAS) has led protests against the US over its support for Israel.

One of the party's youth leaders warned potential concertgoers that buying tickets would help boost America's war chest.

"Whether Rihanna realises it or not, we know that the taxes she has paid also contributed to the war in Gaza," Kamaruzaman Mohamad told Malay newspaper the Star daily.

The event was "akin to insulting Eastern culture, belittling local artistes, internationally causing losses to the country's economy and supporting Israel's war policy," he said.

Kamaruzaman urged authorities who hand out concert permits in the country to block the application.

The concert's sponsor told the daily that Rihanna has agreed to follow local regulations for her performance but did not give details.

Rihanna (real name Robyn Rihanna Fenty) is not the first big star to face such flack.

Last year, US singer Beyonce scrapped a planned concert in Malaysia due to protest fears.

According to Chicago {AP}-

The company that makes the popular Beanie Babies is hoping for two more big winners with dolls named "Sweet Sasha" and "Marvelous Malia."

But, no, the names do not refer to President Barack Obama's daughters, a Ty Inc. spokeswoman says. Honest!

Ty released the 12-inch dolls as part of the company's "TyGirlz Collection." The Sasha doll has pigtails and wears a white and pink dress with hearts. The Malia doll has a side ponytail and a long-sleeve shirt with capri pants.

The Oak Brook-based company chose the names because "they are beautiful names," not because of any resemblance to Malia and Sasha Obama, said spokeswoman Tania Lundeen.

"There's nothing on the dolls that refers to the Obama girls," Lundeen said. "It would not be fair to say they are exact replications of these girls. They are not."

The dolls have bronze skin and "real doll hair," Lundeen said. They were introduced in early January and a limited supply has been shipped to retailers.

In the real world, 7-year-old Sasha and 10-year-old Malia have been the focus of intense interest. A throng of reporters followed their first day at school, and news reports detailed what they wore on Inauguration Day.

That fascination will make the dolls a success, said Denise Gary Robinson, president of DollsLikeMe.com, an online specialty doll boutique that specializes in ethnic dolls, toys and gifts.

"Girls all over the world, of all colors, will be looking for these dolls. They want to identify with these two girls," Robinson said.

Among the 30 other TyGirlz pictured on Ty's Web site are ones named Lindsay, Britney, Paris, Hillary and Jenna (but no Barbara.) The collection was introduced in 2007.

Public figures have a legal right to control their how their images are used, but Lundeen would not comment on legal issues or if the company's lawyers have become involved with the dolls.
