Ne-Yo chose to ditch the wrong concert, cause it's going to cost him bread:
R&B/songwriter Ne-Yo is facing another court case — this time over a missed New Year’s Eve concert in Bellevue, Washington.
As reported on Singersroom in January, Ne-Yo had been booked for what was to be a ‘big’ New Year’s Bash at the Meydenbauer Center. Unfortunately for fans who paid $75 - $1,200 for tickets and exclusive VIP access Ne-Yo only showed up via a club television screen.
Party-goer Michael Brandt told Washington’s King5: “At 11:30 they had a pre-recorded message from Ne-Yo. He was on a plane from Nigeria and not able to come. They probably knew a day in advance. They could have cancelled or given a refund.”
As a result of the situation, Maryland based Wet Entertainment has filed suit against the singer claiming they paid him $95k up front.
Wet alleges they also paid for the singer’s promotion, travel and hotel arrangements.
Wet Entertainment is according to TMZ, asking for the $95k it paid upfront and an additional $1 million in damages.
